A Place of Faith and Fellowship

Shepherd's Fund

The word "shepherd" is described figuratively as a pastor, leader or guide; to watch and tend as a shepherd; guard, protect. Members of Glendale Presbyterian Church watch and tend to the needs of others in our congregation.

The Session maintains a Shepherd's Fund. It is supported through the generosity of the congregation. The purpose of the Fund is to help those members of our own church who experience financial emergencies from time to time. Whereas other offerings support the mission of the church in our community, our nation, and around the world, our Shepherd’s Fund touches the lives of those in our immediate family of faith. In other words, it allows us to minister to individuals who literally are our neighbors - the very ones who sit next to us on the pew or beside us at a fellowship event.

The response to this special offering has been heartwarming. The fund has already proved beneficial to a number of our members who have come to one of the church officers seeking temporary assistance - some of whom had nowhere else to turn but to their church family. With the congregation’s support, we can continue reaching out to our neighbors in need! We ask that you prayerfully consider making a contribution to the Shepherd's Fund - not only because you can, but because you care.

If you, as a member of Glendale Presbyterian Church, are facing a financial emergency and seek assistance from the Shepherd's Fund, please contact one of the church officers or the pastor for confidential guidance in requesting funds.
