A Place of Faith and Fellowship

History

The founding members of Glendale Presbyterian Church broke ground on August 17, 1958, and the first service was held in the new building April 12, 1959. The Rev. Bill Lindblom was the organizing pastor. On April 30, 1961, Richard Carley served from 1961 – 1966, and the Rev. William Werth was installed in 1967 and served until 1994. In September of 1996, Rev. Barry Murr was called and continues to serve as pastor. In 1991, the Westminster Presbyterian Church, an inner city church that ministered to the people of Toledo from 1870 to 1991, closed and ninety percent of its members joined Glendale which was a positive experience for both congregations.
